Ola Wassvik, CTO Marcelo Soto-Thompson, SR Opt. Eng. FlatFrog AB Abstract

This whitepaper explores the impact of LCD optical quality for touch-enabled displays based on Projected Capacitive (PCT) and Frustrated Total Internal Reflection (FTIR), the latter of which includes FlatFrog InGlass™ touch. Touchscreens are becoming mainstream in all display sizes ranging from mobile phones to interactive white boards. However, system designers must take into account the trade-offs in optical quality based on their choice of touch technology. This paper highlights the advantages of InGlass™ touch, specifically its ability to maintain superior visual clarity of the underlying display while providing high multi-touch performance across all sizes and form factors.
